"Colorwashing" where you paint trim and walls in the same color, is on trend. Particularly if it is very high gloss. However, it is imperative to get an expert painter! One genius way to get this look is to use lacquered wallpaper that mimics this look.
An old-is-new again trend is to match wallpaper with curtain fabrics. Many prints come in both, and it is a lovely look that creates a seamless look. What keeps this looking fresh and not dates is a bold use of color and pattern.

In my recent Instagram post about favorite wallpapers, this one was top rated! On view here in a bakery's restroom in Easton, Maryland, "Pagoda" wallpaper by Katie Ridders shines. The use of a bold yellow gloss-paint is genius. Seemingly unrelated to each other, they work magnificently, keeping Pagoda from going too sweet.
Small footstools or ottomans are a quick solution to so many problems! Tired legs? Check. Extra seat? Check. Open space to put your bag? Check. Boring room? Check. Use several of these across from a sofa, in front of a fire, or by the front entry. Go neutral or go bold! l
This large and airy bedroom benefits from a feature wall, with walls and curtains in monochromatic tones surrounding it. De Gournay 'Portobello" is magical in this space. Note the modern, strong lines in the tables, loveseat and bed. This keeps the room from being overly sweet. Sweet room indeed!
